1. Agreement to Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Mamuri mobile application ("App") operated by SUNJUN KIM ("we," "us," or "our").

By creating an account or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

Mamuri is an AI-powered diary application. Core features include:

• Digital diary: Write and manage daily journal entries
• AI companion: Receive empathetic, supportive AI-generated responses to your diary entries
• Conversation: Engage in follow-up conversations with your AI companion

The AI companion is powered by third-party AI technology (currently OpenAI's GPT-4o-mini). Your diary content is sent to OpenAI for processing. See our Privacy Policy for details.

3. Important Disclaimers About AI

3.1 Not Professional Advice

• AI responses are generated by machine learning algorithms and may not always be accurate, appropriate, or helpful
• Do not rely on Mamuri for diagnosis, treatment, or management of any medical or mental health condition
• If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, please contact:

  • Suicide Prevention Hotline: 1393 (Korea)
  • Mental Health Crisis Line: 1577-0199 (Korea)

3.2 AI Limitations

• AI responses may occasionally be inaccurate, inappropriate, or incomplete
• The AI does not retain memory between separate diary entries unless through conversation context
• We do not guarantee the quality, accuracy, or suitability of AI responses
• The AI model may be updated without prior notice

3.3 Third-Party AI Disclosure

By using the AI features, you acknowledge that:

• Your diary content (up to 3,000 characters) is sent to OpenAI for processing
• Your nickname and AI companion name are included for personalization
• Recent conversation history (up to 10 messages) may be sent for context

4. Account Registration

4.1 Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account and use the App.

4.2 Account Creation

You may create an account using email/password or social login (Google, Apple).

4.3 Account Security

• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials
• You are responsible for all activity under your account
• Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access

• New users may receive a 7-day free trial of Deluxe
• iOS payments through Apple In-App Purchase
• Android payments through Google Play Billing

• Cancel anytime through App Store, Google Play, or App settings

Refund policies are governed by Apple or Google Play.

6. User Content

6.1 Ownership

You retain ownership of all content you create within the App.

6.2 License Grant

You grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to store, process (including through third-party AI), and display your content solely to provide the service.

6.3 Content Restrictions

You agree not to:

• Post content promoting violence, hatred, or discrimination
• Attempt to reverse-engineer or abuse the AI system
• Use the App for illegal purposes
• Circumvent usage limits or subscription restrictions
• Share account credentials with others
• Use automated tools or bots to interact with the App

8. Account Deletion

You may permanently delete your account via Settings > Account > Delete Account.

3-step process:

1. Review what will be deleted
2. Provide a reason (optional)
3. Confirm with your password

Deleted: Account, profile, all diary entries, AI comments, conversations, active subscription.

Retained: Deletion log (legal compliance), anonymized usage statistics, anonymized safety records.

9. Intellectual Property

The App, including its design, code, features, and AI systems, is owned by SUNJUN KIM. AI companion responses are generated uniquely for you and do not constitute professional advice.

10. Limitation of Liability

The App is provided "as is" without warranties. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for:

• Indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
• Loss of data, profits, or goodwill
• Inaccurate or harmful AI-generated responses
• Third-party service failures (OpenAI, Firebase, Stripe, Apple, Google)
• Unauthorized access due to your failure to maintain security

Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $100 USD (whichever is greater).

11. Modifications to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. Significant changes will be posted in the App with an updated date. Continued use constitutes acceptance.

12. Termination

By You: Delete your account at any time through the App.

By Us: We may suspend or terminate your account for Terms violations, fraudulent behavior, security risks, or legal requirements.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Republic of Korea. Disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of Suwon District Court.
